Why Maasi

Every parent has a 2 AM worry list.
We built a company to answer it.

Five systems stand behind every Maasi caregiver. Not promises — infrastructure. Here’s each one, and the worry it retires.

“She says she has ten years of experience. But will she actually know what to do with my baby?”

— every parent, during every nanny interview ever
01 · Training

Our training program is deliberately hard to pass.

Experience isn’t the same as skill. So before any caregiver joins Maasi, she completes our hands-on training program — newborn care, toddler development, hygiene, nutrition, first response, and how to work respectfully inside your home.

Most candidates don’t make it through. Six in ten drop off. That’s not a flaw in the program — it is the program. The ones who graduate are the ones our trainers would trust with their own children.

And because a japa specialist, a day nanny, and a governess are different professions, every caregiver is trained and certified for the specific age and stage of your child — not sent wherever there’s a vacancy.

“Everyone says ‘background verified.’ What does that actually mean when it’s a stranger, alone, with my child?”

— the question behind every reference call
02 · Background verification

Background checks are where we start, not where we stop.

The moment a caregiver is selected for your family, we initiate full identity, address, and reference verification. But documents tell you who someone is on paper. They don’t tell you who she is with a crying child at 6 PM.

So we go further: a 16-point psychometric assessment that screens for temperament, patience, and judgement — and weeks of training where our trainers observe candidates daily and flag anyone they wouldn’t trust with their own families. It’s the kind of vetting no document check or 30-minute interview can replicate.

“It took us three months to find her. If this doesn’t work out, I can’t go through that again.”

— the fear that keeps parents stuck with a bad fit
03 · Replacement support

If the fit isn't right, the search doesn't restart. We handle it.

Sometimes a caregiver is excellent and still not right for your family — a personality mismatch, a schedule change, a new baby who needs different skills. With an agency, that means starting from zero: new search, new interviews, new fees, new anxiety.

With Maasi, you tell us what isn’t working and we bring you a better match from our trained pool — someone who already cleared the same training, the same verification, the same bar. Your subscription covers the relationship with Maasi, not with one individual. The continuity is ours to maintain, not yours to rebuild.

“It’s 7 AM. She just called in sick. I have a 9 AM meeting and no plan B.”

— the single worst morning in working parenthood
04 · Instant backup

Caregivers are human. Your cover for them shouldn't depend on luck.

Caregivers fall sick. They travel home for festivals. They have families and emergencies of their own — and at Maasi, they’re allowed to, without fear of losing their job. That’s part of why they stay with us so long.

What makes that possible for you is the pool behind every placement: when your caregiver can’t make it, we send a trained, verified backup from our on-demand network — briefed on your child’s routine, not starting from scratch. Her day off doesn’t have to become your day off.

“I hired a caregiver and somehow became an HR department — attendance, salary, advances, awkward money conversations.”

— the part nobody warns you about
05 · Managed attendance & payroll

You raise your child. We run the employment.

The hardest part of having help at home isn’t finding it — it’s managing it. Tracking days worked. Calculating deductions. Handling salary advances. Having the money conversation, again, in your living room.

Maasi takes all of it off your plate. Attendance is tracked digitally, salaries are paid by us, and advances are handled by us — so your caregiver never has to ask you for money, and you never have to play accountant. The relationship in your home stays about one thing only: your child.

It’s better for her, too. Caregivers on Maasi get salary advances and paid-on-time reliability from a company — not from the mercy of an employer. Dignity on both sides of the door.

Day 1

The nanny problem is one of the hardest problems in any Indian city. Supply is scarce, trust is fragile, and nobody — including us — has fully solved it. We’re on day one of a long climb, and we’d rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.

So here’s what you’re actually paying Maasi for. Not perfection — ownership. We understand this headache deeply, because we grew up inside it. When something breaks — an absence, a mismatch, a payroll question — it’s ours to fix, not yours to manage.

That’s the deal. And we intend to keep earning it.
